  • The rate is the European Central Bank's euro reference rate: how much of the currency one euro buys. The ECB publishes one a working day, around 16:00 Frankfurt time, for 29 currencies.
  • latest is the latest rate held, null until there is one.
  • change: per cent, against the rate a week and three months before the latest; null when that is older than the rates held. Signed, never coloured: a weaker euro is good news for an exporter and bad for an importer.
  • year: the lowest and highest rate of the last year.
  • history: each working day's rate, only when since is sent.
